Having just completed their first run of festival shows in regional New South Wales and Queensland following global lockdowns, Australia’s hottest new all-female country band, Southbound xo are now releasing their new single ‘Bar High.’
The band are releasing ‘Bar High’ following a great response from crowds for the song at events such as Tumbafest, Buck Wild Country Barn Sessions, the World Championship Gold Buckle Campdraft Concert and Camden Country Music Festival to over 10,000 people!
‘Bar High’ was written by Southbound xo band co-lead singer Sarah Bernardo, US hitmaker Rosi Golan (Lady A, Lennon Stella, Christina Aguleria), Australian country-pop chart topper Melanie Dyer and local hit writer/producer Liam Quinn, who also produced the track.
Bernardo, an Australian resident, originally born and raised in Canada, says ‘Bar High’ is a celebration of experiences shared and bonds formed all around the world!
“This was such a really fun song to write,” she says.
“Being someone who has done a fair bit of solo travelling, I’ve always really enjoyed meeting random people from all corners of the world and just having a blast in the short moments we spent together!”
At the same time as ‘Bar High’ is being released, those adventures are entering a new chapter, with Bernardo and Southbound xo co-lead singer Missy Lancaster currently in Nashville, writing future material and forging new creative relationships and friendships. They launched the single with a special performance of the song with The Pitch Meeting band at Sonnys Nashville, last Tuesday night!
“We are strong believers in celebrating life to the fullest whenever you can, with whoever you meet. After all, as the song says, two shots are better than one!” says Bernardo.
‘Bar High’ is another fun and uplifting country bop, which features in Southbound xo’s high energy live show, along with their first five top ten country releases, including the #1 Countrytown national radio hits ‘This Is Us’ and ‘Find Our Way.’
Southbound xo will take that live show to major events in the spring, including CMC Rocks Queensland, Savannah In The Round and Groundwater Country Music Festival, with a bunch of their first headline shows to also go on sale very soon.
